Welcome Parents & Students!

Thank you for visiting my Website. My name is Shannon Jeffrey and I teach a variety of mathematics at Southern Columbia which I've listed below.  If you are interested in specific assigments and lessons then please visit my Sapphire Community Portal.

  • Honors PreCalculus -An intense course in Pre-calculus and Trigonometry presented at a faster pace and encourages kids to solve problems on a higher level of thinking. This course is designed to prepare students for both college level mathematics and the Advanced Placement Calculus course.
  • Calculus-Mathematics of limits, derivatives, integrals, and an introduction to differential equations .  This course models a first semester college Calculus course. It is highly recommended to those students interested in going into the mathematics and sciences.
  • AP Calculus AB -Also the mathematics of limits, derivatives, integrals and differential equations. The Advanced Placement Calculus course models the current advanced placement curriculum set by the AP College Board.  It is taught at a more rigorous level than the traditional Calculus course. This course is designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement exam which they have the option of taking  at the end of the year.  If they pass the exam, they may have the option of placing out of their first semester of college calculus and obtain college credits for the course and/or advancing directly to the second semester course.
  • Honors Calculus II-This course is equivalent to a second semester college Calculus course. This class will be modeled after the syllabus for AP Calculus BC set by College Board. This an extremely rigorous course with a lot of advanced analytical material. It is a very difficult course for the high school level and should only be considered by those students who did extremely well in the first year Calculus course.
