Fine Arts and Crafts
Art I is geared towards the student who has an interest in art and wants to develop his or her creative abilities to an intermediate level. This general survey course of fine art media and techniques is built around the elements and principles of design and touches upon art history, aesthetics, and criticism. Students will complete a unit each on the following: measurement, elements and principles of design, drawing, painting, and printmaking. Students will write about their artwork, as well as the artwork of their peers.
