3-D Design

3-D Design is an advanced studio course for students who have successfully completed Art I.  Students will use the elements and principles of design to create aesthetically pleasing sculptural artwork.  Students will explore both additive and subtractive methods of sculpture in a variety of mediums such as foam, clay, plaster, wire, metal, and found objects while learning and applying the vocabulary associated with each.  Students are expected to participate in verbal and written critiques about their own artwork, as well as the artwork of their peers.
