  1. I.        Welcome and Introductions
    1. Staff

 

  1. II.      Attendance/Drama Club Requirements
    1. Participation in both shows at some level.

                                                               i.      Cast, Crew, Pit Orchestra, Usher, Concessions, Art Team, Costumes, or Hair/Makeup

 

  1. III.    Fill out and submit Drama Club Information Form
    1. Make sure you write neatly so we can get the email information to you.
    2. You will be able to access the blank form on the internet.  Pdesas.org/ktranter Go to Highlander Theater.

 

  1. IV.    Elect Officers
    1. Each candidate will have the chance to tell you why they believe they would be the best Drama Officer.  You choose your top 4 choices.

                                                               i.      President- responsible for: ELECTED: LINDSAY LEISTNER

  1. Leadership
  2. Communication
  3. Attends School-Wide Activities Meetings
  4. Runs Homecoming/Open House/Activities Fair
  5. Does Fall Play AND Spring Musical
  6. Votes on Deposits and Check Requests
  7. Runs games and activities at meetings
  8. Using Secretary spreadsheet, Contacts Drama Club students when an all-drama email needs to go out.

  1. Works with President on designated tasks
  2. Makes sure Secretary and Treasurer are managing their duties
  3. In Charge of Field Trips

  1. Fundraising Management
  2. Manages Drama Club Roster
    1. Meeting Attendance- must be at every meeting
    2. Keeping track of Drama Club requirement compliance
    3. Enters all student Drama Club Information onto Spreadsheet and manages additions or deletions

                                                           iv.      Treasurer ELECTED: MAGGIE BROOKS

  1. Takes charge of collection of money
  2. Signs for Deposits and Check Requests

 

  1. V.      Fundraisers
    1. Homecoming- Thursday, Sept. 30th at the High School Stadium 6:30-8:30
    2. Unity In Community Walk/Run Fundraiser- Oct. 9th at Caste Village Go to www.dancingfor adifference.org to register.
    3. Name A Seat go to bwfta.org if interested.
    4. Steeler Ticket Raffle

                                                               i.      If you have Active/Involved Parents who are willing to sell for us, please see me after this meeting.  You can’t sell, but your parents can help us!

VII.  Fall Play Information

  1. Title
  2. Rehearsals are generally Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.  As always, I will work around your band and Baldwinaires schedules as much as I can.
  3. Show Dates: Nov. 20 at 7pm and Nov. 21 at 1pm
  4. Crew- will meet with Mr. Smith to discuss sets, crew dates and times
  5. Auditions

                                                               i.      Sat. Sept. 18th at 10:30 am in the high school choir room

  1. See me if there is a schedule conflict
  2. If you're making Hoagies for Band/Choir, arrive as soon as possible.
  3. Bring your Fall Play Audition Form with you to the audition.

                                                             ii.      Requirements: Perform a dramatic monologue no longer than 2 minutes.

                                                            iii.      Criteria: I will have outside judges.  They will rate your monologue using:

  1. Confidence
    1. How nervous was the actor?
    2. Volume and Projection?
    3. Pacing Nervously?
    4. Good control of hands and eyes?
    5. Clarity
      1. Did the actor convey clear characterization?
      2. Was there a clear connection? Or a disconnect between the monologue and what the actor was doing in the audition?
      3. Diction
        1. How easy was it for the judges to understand the words?
        2. Character
          1. How well did the actor convey a character to the judges?
          2. Facial Expressions/Gestures?
          3.  
          4. Style Appropriate for Role
            1. Can the judge tell from the monologue that the person can handle a particular assigned role?
            2. Don’t do “Smigel” from Lord of the Rings!
            3. Don’t convey a comedic role for a non-comedic part.

    3. $10.00 Admission for All Can Eat Hot Dogs and Snacks

 

  1. IX.    Spring Musical Information
    1. Auditions: Saturday, Dec. 18th and Sunday, Dec. 19th.
    2. Dates: Two Weekends: April 1,2,3 (Sr. Cit) and April 7,8,9
