Health and Physical Education
Currently students in middle school are learning about:
Handball- This is a great sport that concentrates on teamwork and communication
We will be working on many basic skills of handball:
Dance-students in the 7th and 8th grade dance class are currently learning how to find the beat of the music, choreograph dance moves in counts of 8 and feel the rhythm of the music.
What have we learned so far this year?!
Flag Football-students learned how to properly throw, catch and run with a football. They also learned how to dodge a defender while running with the ball.
Students will have fitness testing in both the fall and the spring. Fitness testing consists of five different tests; sit & reach (measures flexibility), curl ups (measures abdominal strength and endurance), shuttle run (measures speed), pull ups (measures upper body strength) and a one mile run (measures heart and lung endurance).
Soccer
This winter 6th grade and my 7th and 8th grade team sports class will be learning about:
Floor Hockey- students will learn the basic skills of floor hockey and participate in tournaments.
