When is the best time to call if I have a question?

Before school (7:00-8:30) or after school (3:30 pm - 4:00 pm) is the best time. 

If that time doesn't work for your schedule just call, leave a message and tell me 

the best time to contact you.

What am I supposed to do with the calendar that comes home every day?

The calendar is a quick way to let you know how your child's day went. After reviewing 

and discussing their day simply initial the date and put it back in there folder. At the 

end of the month every student that has each day initialed will move their star up. It is 

also a great way to let me know something. Write a brief note on it and I won't miss it! 

**Please do not use for absent notes - they have to go to the office and I can't send the calendar.

What is Kid writing?

Kid writing is something we do everyday. It can show your child's reading and writing level. 

What they write clearly shows what they are reading and areas that we need to further 

support them. For more information click on the computer icon on the home page and the 

powerpoint will really explain how and why we use it, the steps to Kid writing and some examples 

of student work.

What can I bring in for my child's birthday?

While it is great when parents send in treats, we are trying to do away with edible treats.  Each year I have had students with severe allergies including food allergies.  I want to be fair to all students and not let any student to feel left out when they can’t indulge with the rest of the class. 

Pencils, stickers or other small trinkets are things everyone can enjoy.  The birthday student gets a pencil and sticker from the office.  We sing Happy Birthday, move them from the five year old graph to the six year old graph and they get to wear their crown for the day. The whole class has enjoyed this without any edible treats.   Sometimes less is best!  If you want to send in something for an occasion, please let me know.
