Super Cute Picture of Me webpage.jpgMegan is the Instructional Technology Coach at Colfax Upper Elementary School. She completed her undergraduate and graduate course work at The Catholic University of America in Child and Adolescent Psychology.  She earned her Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the state of Virginia and the District of Columbia.  She taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade in North East Washington D.C. in an all Title 1 school for 3 years, then moved to Virginia and continued her teaching career.  In addition to teaching elementary students she taught FACS Advanced Placement Foundations of Early Childhood Education to future educators through Northern Virginia Community College.  She returned to Pennsylvania after receiving a scholarship to complete her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from The Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and earned her Instructional One Teaching Certificate from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  She graduated  Summa cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and found her place among the teachers of Allegheny Valley School District.  She has recently received a scholarship to complete her National Board Certification through Duquesne University.  In Pennsylvania she is certified to teach Elementary Education K-6, Family and Consumer Sciences K-12, British and American Literature 7-12, English Composition and Literature 7-12, and general Science 7-12.  She has published research in The Journal of Health Education and Behavior, and she is currently researching Parental Involvement Practices in Allegheny County Elementary Schools.
