Biology Monday       January 29 

Objective:

-Students will be able to compare mitosis and meiosis

-Students will be able to explain the role of chromosomes during cell division

-Students will be able to explain the main events of the cell cycle.

-Students will be able describe what happens during the phases of mitosis and meiosis

Student Friendly Learning Targets:

-I will be able to compare mitosis and meiosis

-I will be able to explain the role of chromosomes during cell division

-I  will be able to explain the main events of the cell cycle.

-I will be able describe what happens during the phases of mitosis and meiosis

Procedure:

-Announce the quiz for Friday on Meiosis

-Recap the poster project and explain what students still have to complete the project

-Pass out the sheet with the terms and descriptions of mitosis and meiosis

-Together with the class on the smart board, identify which boxes are mitosis or meiosis or both

-Show students where the supplies are

-Students will complete a Venn diagram on mitosis and meiosis

-Check diagrams for accuracy when they turn in their projects
