We have been so busy in the Life Skills Classroom.    The students have had many hands on opportunities to practice the skills they are learning. We are running the school wide recycling program again this year.  Every Friday the students look forward to performing their recycling jobs.  I have gotten many complements from other teachers on how polite the students are when collecting the recycling. The students earn money and spend it in the classroom store every Friday.  We tell the time before/after lunch and on our picture schedules.  We recently painted Halloween decorations which turned out great!

Community Based Instruction- CBI enables the students to practice the skills they are learning in the classroom.  The real life practice of skills such as time, money, social skills,pedestrian safety, reading signs and lables, and problem solving help increase independence and safety.
