Monday    No School - Labor Day
Tuesday      

Welcome & Rules:   Students will understand the class rules and rewards system for positive behavior.                                                            

TPR (Total Physical Response) Activity:  Geography - Map Skills:  Students will stand up and learn the directions North, South, East, and West by walking in directions within the classroom.  Students will learn that maps have countries (US, Canada, Mexico, etc).                                                                                                       Writing Activity:  Students will respond to the following journal prompt:  Imagine that you just stepped outside and it is raining strange objects.  Write about what you see.                                                 

Wednesday 

TPR Activity (p. 189):  A Clock - Students will be asked several questions: What's this?  What time is it?  Where is number 12? etc.  They will work using a manipulative clock to practice telling times by 1/4 hour, 1/2 hour, and hour.                                              

Journal Activity:  Students will respond to the the following journal prompt:  Would you rather be a bee or an ant?  Explain.                                            

Thursday   Claws and Paws Leveled Readers, Story 1:  Students will be introduced to the leveled reader stories.  We will discuss what claws and paws are, and the animals that have claws and paws.  Students will read story 1 and answer vocabulary and comprehension questions that follow.
Friday        Claws and Paws, Story 1:  Students will finish answering the questions to story 1.                                                                                                                TPR Activity:  Hi My Name is Joe!  This activity involves using large motor skills and following directions.                                                                  Game:  Hang Man:  Students will be taught how to play Hang Man.  They will practice making words.  I will give them a category and they will make a word accordingly.  We will then play the game for the remainder of the period.
