Module 8 - Teacher Tools

Teacher Tools

As registered users, educators are given access to several tools that together help to manage communication between themselves, students, and parents.  The tools also enable educators to keep their content in one place and have it all accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.

My Profile

The My Profile tool gives the user the ability to define characteristics of him/herself in order to have their account linked to several Professional Learning Communities in the future.

My ePortfolio

The My ePortfolio tool provides users an online repository for storing any digital content they desire.  Users can access the content stored in their ePortfolio from anywhere with an internet connection.

My Website

The My Website tool provides educators an easy-to-use website builder that allows the user to make content available to their students and interested parents.  The ePortfolio and website are very tightly connected enabling the user to put classroom-related content from their ePortfolio onto the website.

Publish Your Best

With the Publish Your Best tool, educators can create classroom-ready lesson plans and resources aligned to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards and submit them to Quality Review for consideration to be published in the SAS Portal collection of Materials & Resources.

Professional Learning Communities

The Professional Learning Communities tool allows users to join and participate in Communities, Blogs, and Forums.  The PLCs enable educators to share ideas and methods within a community of educators with similar interests and goals.

Curriculum Mapping

The Curriculum Mapping tool enables educators and administrators to easily create Curriculum maps that include standards, materials and resources, assessments, and any other content within the SAS Portal and beyond.  The interconnectedness of the SAS Portal shines when used for curriculum mapping.

PD Center

The PD Center offers free online courses that can be used to fulfill Act 48 requirements.  Each course is moderated and is self-paced.
