» A demerit will be issued if a student is tardy to class without a late pass.
» Once in class, get out class materials and place your bag on the back shelf.
» Class starts immediately when the bell rings, be in your seat and ready to go.
» If there is a “bell ringer” for the day, you should begin working on it as soon as you get to class.
» You should ALWAYS have your supplies for class (textbook, binder, loose-leaf, pens, calculator, iPad, etc.) unless otherwise informed.
» Uniform is to conform with the uniform/dress code in the student handbook.
» Homework is meant to reinforce topics covered in class. Practice makes perfect!
» Homework will not be accepted at the end of the day that it was due in class.
» Homework not turned in when collected and/or reviewed in class is a “0”.
» There is no excuse for sleeping during class time. The classroom is not a place to be sleeping.
» Sleeping in class is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
» I will give one warning. Second offense is a demerit. Repeated offenses will result in detention.
» One warning will be given. Second offense will result in confiscation of the phone until the end of the day and a Tier 2 (Saturday) detention. It’s school policy!
» Silence is required (and needed) by you and your classmates until the last paper is submitted.
» Talking during an exam may result in forfeiture of your grade.
» After you complete an exam, you may work on something else (no iPads) until everyone has finished.
» Permission to leave the room for restroom, locker, phone, or other personal business may be granted at appropriate times.
» Do not “overuse” this privilege or else it will be limited.
» You will sign in and out on the sheet by the door. The classroom pass is to be worn around your neck.
» After 2:30PM, in accordance with the MPS handbook, no one may be excused.
» It’s school policy. It attracts bugs and we don’t need that!
» You are permitted to have WATER in the classroom.
» It gets very warm in 212; it would be a good idea to bring water to class!
» No special accommodations will be made. You are still responsible for the work that you miss.
» Any work that is due on the day of your early dismissal is to be turned in before you leave school or else it will be considered late.
» Cheating is defined as representing another’s work as your own and enabling others to use your work as their own.
» Enabling or helping others to cheat is also cheating.
» Be sure to follow the MLA format and include a works cited page when writing lab reports that require research.
