District Jazz Vocal Auditions:

1. Sing two (2) different major scales in swing eighth notes using jazz syllables of your  choice to show your range. (ascending and descending; tempo – quarter note = 100;  one octave; include the ninth at the top).

2. Sing “Body and Soul” in It Had to be You: 24 Standards in Singers Keys: Vol. 107 by  Jamie Aebersold.  Sing A cappella using the lyrics.  Change the key to suit your range. 

3.  Sing “Doctor Blues” – SATB – Heritage Choral Series – Peter Blair.  Sing your voice  part throughout with CD accompaniment. Improvise scat singing at measures 45­52 and  57­65.
