21st Century Digital Citizenship

21st Century Citizenship (Digital)

21st Century digital citizenship resources will be provided to our High School students through this web site and through our grade level assemblies as part of our effort to inform students of what it is to be a citizen in the 21st Century.  21st Century citizenship is different than the past primarily due to the use of the Internet and other virtual mediums to interact. Social networking has become a common practice for most students.  In our District Acceptable Use Policy for technology it states:

  • “The District shall educate minors about appropriate online behavior, including interactions with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms and cyberbullying awareness and response.”

We developed a Digital Citizenship Organizer by grade providing our purposes, essential questions, knowledge and skills, and a tool to assess how well we achieved our purpose.
