Time Learning to tell time is an important math skill that is learned in elementary school. This lesson is a review minilesson on telling time. It contains activities for telling time on an analogue and digital clock. The activities in this lesson actively engage the children and allows for them to get up and move about the classroom. There is a simple PowerPoint that is used to project clocks on the screen for the dry erase clock activity. Children will enjoy this lesson because it is engaging and fun. It allows them to work individually and in partners. It is also a good lesson for the teacher to assess whether or not the students have fully grasped the concepts involved with telling time such as which hand is which, the difference between digital and analogue clocks, and what each number on the analogue clock represents ( ex. 3= 15 minutes). Below is the lesson, PowerPoint, and images of the materials used to complete this lesson.
