My Website
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Human Resources Management major at King's College. In this Chemistry blog I will be posting about my conceptual interview. The topic of my conceptual interview has to do with catching a cold!
I found that the friends that I interviewed had somewhat of an understanding about the common cold. However, they didn’t know the most common way to catch a cold. Even I was surprised by some of the research I found. It is very simply- the way you catch a common cold is by germs being transmitted from person to person. This is why washing your hands and staying away from sick people can help prevent you from getting a cold. I thought it was interesting how my one interviewee thought taking vitamins will help her not get a cold. I even thought this as well. However, once I did my research I found that vitamins do strengthen the immune system, which is very important but they don’t fully protect you from getting a cold. Having an understanding on catching a common cold will help my interviewees and me in everyday life. They are now informed of ways they can prevent getting sick. When teachers, parents and friends stress the fact that you must always wash your hands, you should always listen. This is a very important way to not catch a cold and prevent the virus from spreading. Also, my interviewees have a better understanding of the little myths that are told about the common cold. Usually these myths are things to help better a cold when you have it or help strengthen your immune system but they don’t prevent you from catching it!
