Below you will find links to websites that we use frequently in our classroom as well as other websites that are great to practice all of the new skills that we are learning! All that you need to do is click on the picture and you will be transferred to that particular website. Encourage your child to use these sites for extra practice when they are given computer time at home. Thank you for supporting your child and their desire to learn to read, write, and become mathematicians!

 

 

Bookflix

Bookflix is a website run by Scholastic that our district has a site license through. On this website you have the ability to read fiction books, both new and classics, in a movie format. There are also non-fiction books that you can read that relate to the book that you just watched. These fiction and non-fiction pairs are great books to read to help your child meet the new Common Core standards. To access this site, use the following information:

 A free website that contains fun, interactive, educational games for elementary aged students.

 

 

AOL Kids Stories Online

This site contains stories online for children on a variety of topics in a movie format. Choose a story and the computer will read it to you!

 

 

 

We Give Books

A free website where you can find all kinds of books for children of any age. This website does not read you the book like some sites do, but it has a nice variety of fairly new books that children are bound to love. All you need to do is create a free account!

 

 

 

PBS Kids

 

PBS Kids is a website run by the Public Broadcasting Station made especially for kids! There are videos of shows that broadcast on PBS including Clifford, Arthur, Sid the Science and Kid, and many more that teach children lessons in a fun way with engaging and relatable characters. The website also contains tons of games for children that practice basic reading and math skills using the characters they love from the PBS shows. Be sure to check this site out, your child is sure to love it!

A website to practice letters, sounds, colors, and basic math skills. There are also stories that you can read, or that can be read to you.
