Dear Students:
A. Chapter 1 has focused this far on equations. This activity will summarize what you have learned so far. This classwork assignment will count as a grade for Chapter 1.
- In Microsoft Word, I would like you to start a New Document.
- Put your name and date at the top
- Label the first section "Equation Information"
- In this section, do the following:
- Define constant, variable, expression, and equation
- Explain what the goal is for solving all equations.
- Explain the role of inverse relationships. BE SPECIFIC - identify each operations inverse.
- Identify in an organized way (using numbers or bullets) at least three key words found in word problems that indicates which operation to use.
- Identify how you know where your variable goes in a word problem.
- Title your second section "Types of Equations with Examples" and center it.
- Hit enter.
- Create a Table by selecting Table, Insert, Table.
- Select 4 columns and 6 rows.
- You have learned about four different types of equations in CHapter 1: one-step, two-step, multi-step, and equations with variables on both sides. Label the top of each row the four types listed above. Bold and center these subtitles.
- Find or create five examples of each problem and list them in each column.
Save your document to a New Folder, which you will make on the Desktop labeled your last name, first initial.
B. Go to Study Island and take the quiz labeled "Equation Review".
