     Here's the news for December!!!!

     In reading, we will be working on Unit 3.  We will be learning about long e spelled with an e, ee, ea, and y, and long o words spelled with an o, ao, and ow.

     Our comprehension skills will be author's purpose and drawing conclusions.

     In spelling, our tests will be on December 6th, 13th, and 20th.

     In English, we will be learning about verbs, and using verbs with singular and plural nouns.

     In social studies, we will be doing some map skills in correlation with our Social Studies Weekly.

     In writing, we are working on finishing those capital slant letters.  It will then be on to cursive.

     In math, we are still working on Chapter 5, Counting to 200.  We will be adding 1 and 2 digit numbers to 100.  We will be identifying sets as odd and even.  The students will be estimating objects.  The students will be learning how to add two digit numbers together using the concept of trade.  A perimeter lesson will be reviewed adding two digit numbers together.  A few money lessons will be introduced using nickels, pennies, and dimes.  The rest of the chapter will be finished after Christmas vacation.

     As you can see, we have lots of learning in the month of December!!!!!
