I hold a Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language and Bachelor of Arts in General and Special Education. I have almost 9 years of experience teaching elementary ESL. With my experience teaching ELs and collaborating with special education teachers, literacy specialists, MTSS coordinators, families, and administrators, I feel I am a great asset. 

While teaching ESL at West Allegheny School District, I have provided educational consultation to 30+ teachers to successfully include ELs in the general education classroom. In my current role as the only K-5 ESL teacher, and the only full time ESL teacher in my district, I have many responsibilities to ensure that our program runs effectively. By law, these students are entitled to receive an equitable education. I have advocated for special education services for some ELs and facilitated discussions with teachers and families on how to best support their language needs. With our elementary numbers increasing from 7 ELs to 99 ELs in the last 9 school years, I have exhibited strategic planning, management, and problem-solving skills.

• 2023 Future Ready Index English Language Growth and Attainment All Student Group (Mckee Elementary - West Allegheny School Distirct) Meets Interim Goal/Improvement Target. (58.3%) - Statewide 2033 goal is 70.3% and Statewide average is 29%
