Our trip to Finland was delayed a couple days due to flight problems!  We did,  however, end up making it there!! It was such a great experience to learn about the educational system there and to interact with some of the students.  The main teaching method in Finland is hands on experience.  This is the reason for their success.  Their schools are very student centered.  The students do.  They are trusted to complete their work.  If it is not done, they know the consequences.  If a student is stuggling, the lessons become more teacher centered for them; they need that step by step instruction.  Once they master the skill, it is back to student centered until they need the additional help again.
