8/25/15: Explain BCE and CE replacing BC and AD, centuries. PowerPoint slides 1-7.
Homework: Research Indian Nations (Anasazi, Cahokia, and Powhatan). Read Brinkley Pages 9-23, continue essential terms
8/26/15: Discuss Indian Nation Research. Slide 8.
Homework: Create a three-column chart summarizing the different goals held by each European power that settled in the Americas (Spanish, English, French). Be able to explain how Spain, England, and France dealt with their colonies and the Native Americans politically, economically, and socially.
8/27/15: Go over research. Lecture slides 9-18.
Homework: Read Brinkley pages 23-33, finish essential terms. Due 8/31/15
8/28/15: Essential Terms due today. Read Columbus’ letter to Sant Angel and Bartolome de Las Casas letter.
Write a thesis statement answering the following question: Columbus: Hero or villain? Then make an outline for a potential paper.
