9/3/15: Begin Chapter 2. Lecture slides 1-7. SOAPSTone on Letter about settler’s life in Virginia (Jamestown)

Homework:  Jigsaw activity on Bacon’s, Leisler’s and Coode’s Rebellion. Read Brinkley pages 42-50 and continue essential terms.

9/4/15: Discuss Jigsaw activity. Begin Edsitement Activity, “Colonizing the Bay.”

Homework: Read Brinkley pp. 50-58 and continue the essential terms.

9/7/15: NO SCHOOL. Continue Edsitement Activity, “Colonizing the Bay.”

            Homework: Assessment, “Why Leave England?” dialogue

9/8/15: Review Colonizing the Bay. “Create bumper sticker”. Imagine you are Thomas Hooker or Roger Williams establishing a new colony. Create a bumper sticker that will encourage others to join you in Connecticut or Rhode Island.

Homework: Finish bumper sticker. Research Anne Hutchinson Trial. Write thesis statement and outline of paper about role of women, religion, and dissent in colonial society. Due Friday, 9/11/15.
