Reading 7

Homework: 6th, 7th and 8th period reading classes have homework each and every day. They are to read 15-20 minutes a night. All students should be reading in study skills for 20 minutes. Students are required to complete their thinkmark for the book they are reading. The process for homework is students will choose a book they want to read based upon their reading interests. Next they read the book completing the thinkmark as they read. Once finished with their thinkmark and book they will take an SRC quiz on the computer. Students must pass the quiz with a 70% or above to earn their points for the book. Finally students will hand in their thinkmark to Mrs. Gordner so she can track their progress.

Quarter 1: Students must earn 30 SRC Points.

Quarter 2: Students must earn 30 SRC Points.

Quarter 3: Students must earn 30 SRC Points.

Quarter 4: Students must earn 30 SRC Points.

Thinkmark: This is a paper to track student’s progress through their books as they read. They are to write three sentences summarizing what they have read for the day. The first word in each sentence must be circled to show they have three sentences. There are squares where students need to make a prediction on what might happen next in their book and that also must be three sentences. There are two different thinkmarks depending upon if the book is fiction or non-fiction.
