As part of our curriculum and ongoing effort to provide prevention programs to help children cope with difficult situations and/or people, we have scheduled Carli Zanghi, Education Coordinator, with Victim Services, Inc.  of Johnstown to present a program that teaches students to resist unsafe or threatening situations by using awareness and assertiveness.  A presentation is used to discuss the feelings, needs and fears of children, as well as potentional solutions to a problem.Assertiveness techniques concentrating on the themes of "saying no, telling someone, and it's never your fault" are discussed.  Victim Services presents this program in a proper and educational manner, which is tailored and age appropriate for our students.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.  The programs are scheduled for the end of November and beginning of December. 

*Carli Zanghi also brings a hand-out to send home to parents the day of the presentation to explain the day's lesson.
