The students are finishing their hand stitching of the straight stitch.  Yesterday, they began the Backstitch.  This is the strongest hand stitch that they can use to sew something.  This skill will allow them to mend a tear in their clothing anywhere they might be as long as they have a needle, thread and scissors.
