I learned a lot from reading this article on how to use social networking in the classroom. Using youtube to record lectures was probably my favorite way because it allows students to learn at their own pace. They can rewind as much as they want to make sure that they are absorbing the information. I never thought that facebook could be something that teachers and students could use together. However, creating a class facebook group for students and their parents would be a great way to communicate while outside of the class. The teacher could post reminders, changes to assignments, and school cancellations. Students could also post questions that they may have, and if the teacher checks the page a couple of times per night, answer the questions, and then more students would have completed homework and a better understanding of the content that was on it.
