2015 Student-View Scholarship Program - The 2015 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. The program includes: One $4,000 scholarship, Two $1,000 scholarships, Ten $500 scholarships! It's quick and easy to apply. There is no minimum SAT/ACT score or grade point average, no essay required, no lengthy application forms, and no application fees Simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The scholarship winner will be announced in May, 2015. Don't wait. The scholarship deadline is April 22, 2015.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program - Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of the website: www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm. Full details are available on that site. The scholarship program will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) this year. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2015.

Montel-Furin Vets Scholarship Foundation - The non-profit organization is presenting a post-secondary educational scholarship opportunity worth up to $1,500. Criteria: Applicants must be a graduating senior and a resident of Fayette County. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, an SAT score of 1000 or better, and been accepted to college or be in the process of being accepted. Applicants must be active in school and community affairs and have two letters of recommendation from Sr. High Teachers. Applications should be returned to Montel-Furin Vets Scholarship Foundation, C/O Joe Marian, Jr., 67 Union Street, Uniontown, Pa 15401. The scholarship deadline is May 1, 2015. The application must be signed by the applicant, a parent or guardian, and the high school principal. A copy of the applicant's high school transcript, SAT scores, and two letters of recommendation must accompany the application. Applications can be found in the guidance office. Chegg $2,000 Spring ScholarshipExcited for college? We want to know what part of college your most looking forward to and why. Take two minutes to apply for $2,000. All US high school students are eligible. The scholarship deadline is June 1, 2015.

Quality Deer Management Association Scholarship - Candidate must be a senior in high school and a resident of Fayette or Westmoreland County (one award per county). Candidates can only apply once in their educational career for the award. Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA and an overall 95% attendance record. Candidates must demonstrate leadership and citizenship that exemplifies the American spirit and a respect for the outdoors. Candidates must major in a program that will benefit animals of the wild, plants/trees of the wild, law-enforcement of the wild or fields of study that will help to improve the natural resources related to benefiting white-tail deer. To apply, submit the following: application, a 300-500 word essay, one (1) written reference letter from a faculty member (teacher, coach, sponsor, or administrator), proof of acceptance (to technical school, career school, college or university), official High School transcript, and report card for the first three grading periods. Fayette County Association of School Retirees Scholarship - The applicant must be a traditional graduating senior from a public high school in Fayette County. The applicant must be majoring in the field of education. The applicant must have been accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution for the summer or fall term immediately following graduation. Applications must be accompanied by: (a) two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a teacher of the student; (b) a one-page letter from the student outlining his/her personal goals; and, (c) a copy of the applicant's acceptance letter from the institution he/she plans to attend. The application deadline is May 4, 2015.

Fayette Verterans Advocacy Association - The FVAA has established a scholarship program to assist family members of military personnel who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice. For 2015, the FVAA will award three (3) $500.00 scholarships to students of Fayette County, Pennsylvania. All applicants MUST: be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Fayette County, must not have been awarded a full scholarship, provide documentation (transcript) of a minimum 3.0 grade average, list (and be able to document) any extracurricular activities, and list (and be able to document) any community volunteer activities. Applicants must complete and attach a 500 word maximum essay on "What does the United States of America mean to me" and submit the essay with a complete application and all other requested materials by April 18th. 

Pittsburgh Coal Mining Institute of America - The Pittsburgh Coal Mining Institute of America (PCMIA) is proud to announce that it is offering a two thousand dollar ($2,000.00) scholarship to aid a student who is currently or will be attending the Mining Engineering Technology program at Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus. Applicant must be enrolled in the Associate Degree Mining Engineering Technology program at Penn State Fayette; or a high school senior planning post-secondary education in the Mining Engineering Technology program at Penn State Fayette, and attending one of the following high schools: Albert Gallatin, Armburst Christian, Belle Vernon, Bentworth, Berlin Brothersvalley, Beth-Center, Brownsville, California, Canon McMillan, Carmichaels, Champion Christian, Charleroi, Chartiers-Houston, Clay-Batelle, Connellsville, Connellsville Area CTC, Fayette County AVTS, Frazier, Geibel Catholic, Greater Latrobe, Greene County Vo-Tech, Jefferson Morgan, Laurel Highlands, Mapletown, McGuffey, Meyersdale, Monessen, Mon-Valley CTC, Mt. Carmel Christian, Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Zion Christian, Open Door Christian, Pennsville Baptist, Rockwood, Salisbury-Elk Lick, Shanksville-StoneyCreek, Somerset, Somerset CTC, Southmoreland, Trinity, Turkeyfoot Valley, Uniontown, Washington, Waynesburg Central, West Greene and Westmoreland Christian. The Pennsylvania Land Surveyors’ Foundation Inc. Scholarship – Several scholarships are planned to be awarded; the dollar amount of the scholarships will be based on the amount of funds available based on investments and donations. The scholarship was created to promote, improve and encourage the profession and practice of land surveying in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by providing financial assistance to those persons intending to pursue, or who are currently pursuing, an education in surveying with an ultimate goal of becoming practicing Professional Land Surveyors. Scholarships will be disbursed in two installments, the first issue being given by June 30, 2015, the second by January 31, 2016. Both installments are subject to current enrollment in either a two-year or a four-year ABET Accredited Surveying Program. The applicant must submit two character references from someone who is not a family member. The student’s guidance counselor/advisor should provide an objective evaluation regarding academics, character and perceived financial need on the “Guidance Counselor/Advisor Recommendation Form.” Complete instructions, eligibility requirements and applications are available at www.psls.org/scholarship. Three Rivers Desk and Derrick Scholarship Program – Students planning to pursue a four-year energy related degree from a College or University, or those enrolled in a Trade or Vocational degree program at an accredited Western Pennsylvania school, may apply to receive one (1) of three (3) available One Thousand Dollar ($1,000) scholarships. Applicant must be accepted by a College or University and attending full time (12 credit hours or more) in an energy-related program, or enrolled in a Trade or Vocational degree program of an accredited Western Pennsylvania school. Applicant must submit a 500-word essay discussing “Energy Jobs: Now and In The Future.” Applicant must provide a list of any internships, leadership roles, and/or service in which they have been involved, and provide a short description of each activity. Applicant must also provide a letter of recommendation in a sealed envelope from someone other than a family member or friend. Application packets must be postmarked no later than June 1, 2015. American Association of Drilling Engineers 2015-2016 Scholarship – AADE Appalachia is awarding twenty (20) scholarships to freshmen entering college in the fall of 2015. If they are able to secure one of these twenty $1,000 scholarships; upon completion of their freshman year, they will become eligible to apply for one of three (3) planned $2,000 annual scholarships, which may be in effect for the remaining three (3) years of college. The total potential AADE aid could amount to $7,000 over 4 years. To qualify, the candidate must meet the following criteria: (a) graduate from High School with a GPA or GPR of 3.5 or above, (b) scored a minimum 27 on the ACT, or minimum of 600 in Math and 600 in Critical Reading on the SAT, (c) be enrolled in an accredited college in Pennsylvania, Ohio, or West Virginia, (d) be a citizen of the United States of America, (e) submit a fully completed and signed AADE Scholarship Application. Eleanor Adams Memorial Scholarship – Applicants must complete the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary application. To be considered, the applicant must be a 2015 graduate of Laurel Highlands School District, write a 100-word maximum essay on the theme “Who is your favorite American hero,” and attach a copy of the student’s transcript. Applications are due to the AMVETS Post 103 by April 30, 2015. Applications must be signed by the student, a parent or guardian, and the high school principal. Rodgers/Santello Memorial Scholarship Fund – Berkley Medical Resources, Inc. of Uniontown and Smithfield, will again award their annual scholarship in the memory of their late trusted executive, Edward W. Rodgers and Stephanie Santello, the deceased daughter of a former member of the Board of Trustees to a graduating student in the community. This scholarship is awarded to area students of the class of 2015, who have been accepted into college and have achieved peer acknowledgment in scholastic, athletic, and civic endeavors. If you are selected as a possible recipient, please dress business appropriate and allow approximately 30 minutes for the interview. Malcolm M. Prine/WPFOA Scholarship Fund – In 1976, the West Penn Football Officials Association established a scholarship fund, the Malcolm M. Prine WPFOA Scholarship Fund, which is dedicated to providing financial assistance to football student/athletes who attend the high schools for which this association officiates. Complete the scholarship application form and make certain that all of the following supporting information is included: (1) a copy of your high school transcript and College Board SAT (or equivalent) scores, (2) two letters of recommendation- one from a member of the academic staff and one from a member of the athletic staff, (3) a copy of your acceptance letter from the institution you are going to attend, if available. The application and supporting information must be received no later than May 1, 2015. The Fayette County Conservation District – The Fayette County Conservation District is currently offering a $1,500 college scholarship to Fayette County students entering or currently enrolled in Agriculture, Environmental Science or a related field. Qualifications include: (a) the applicant must be entering into or enrolled in Agriculture, Environmental Science or related field of study, (b) the applicant must be a resident of Fayette County, (c) the scholarship shall be awarded by the Conservation District Board of Directors without regard to race, sex, color, creed or national origin, (d) the applicant must have completed at least his/her junior year of high school and be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at an educational institution of higher learning on at least a part-time basis, (e) the scholarship recipient must register for and be attending classes in the fall of 2015 and/or spring of 2016 semester.
