GIMP is a graphic and photo editing program that allows photos to be retouched, enhanced, and edited; also it is completely free.

Audacity is a sound recording program that allows you to record your own sounds. Not only can you record your own sounds, but you can also edit multiple recordings together if needed.

Miro Video Converter is a video converting program that convert any type of video into an mp$ so that it can be viewed or used with iPhone, Android, etc.

Empressr
is an application that allows one to import pictures easily and quickly from a number of search engines. Not only can one import pictures, but you can import pictures, video, and audio into the library as well. This would be a very useful tool for teachers because you can view who has seen the sight, how many times they've viewed it, and for how long to see if the students are doing their work. If you were trying to save multiple presentations at once for multiple lessons, with Empressr you can only save up to 5 at a time. Another advantage to this tool is that you can protect your presentation with a password to make sure that only who you want to access your presentation can access it.

Google Docs is an online tool that allows for real-time collaboration within a group. This is a very useful tool becasue it allows for everyone to have their input, and because it is a real-time app every keystroke is saved so that you don't have to worry about forgetting to save your work. With Google Docs you can search and add videos from YouTube directly into your presentations because it is powered by Google. A disadvantage of this software is that the interface is very simple and that you can't do many fancy things on this site. The best thing about this sight is that since it is powered by google, if you have an account on any of Google's products you will be able to use this easily.

Glogster is a website that I have seen before but never used it myself; however my sister has used it for several school projects and so I know how it works. This website is used to create interactive graphic posters that can contain images, video, and audio. Wheras PowerPoint is more of a presentation viewer, Glogster is used by creating a poster to hold all of the information. One major downfall of this site is that it is very difficult to add outside links onto your poster which is easy to do on PowerPoint. Additionally formatting some pictures onto the poster may not be available and your presentation may be choppy without the proper formation,

Slideshare is a presentation sharing program that allows you to share presentations through Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. These presentations can also be embedded into websites and also blogs of your choosing. The best thing about this site is that creating your presentations are easy and are easily shared and able to be collaborated on. This website has upgrade capabilities in which one can purchase different levels to offer you different capabilities on the site depending on your preference. One of the only downfalls can occur in the signup process but other than that it is not a difficult or bad website to use.

Voicethread is a site that allows you to upload any type of file whether that be audio, grahpic, or video; whatever file you have can work. Also you have the capability to doodle on your presentation and there are many different ways to leave comments on the presentation. In order to leave comments or to view the presentation you must have an account with Voicethread. If you are looking to move past the basic program, you have to pay for the upgrade which is not always the easiest for everyone. You can easily share the presentation by sending it to other members of Voicethread, but again if they don't have an account they will not be able to view the project.

Zoho allows the user to create and show multimedia presentations and has many design themes for creation. Zoho also allows a user to import PowerPoint presentations into the website to use as your presentation. You can also use a program called Zohochat to allow quick commenting and allows for quick feedback on the presentations. One of the problems with Zoho is that it only allows for 1 MB of upload data, so anything larger than that is not going to function on the website. Another problem with this website is that the transitional effects can be slow and some animations may freeze or just not work at all. This site is completely free for one year but after that year and then charges are added after that year depending on what is required.

Prezi is a site that I have heard of many times, I have never used it myself because I am a fan of PowerPoint but I have heard good and bad reviews of Prezi. Prezi allows for other to join and edit the presentation and in addition you can publsih it or keep it private. You can easily incorporate different media types into your presentation and it alo saves automatically much like Google Docs. The downfall with Prezi is that you need to have access to the internet which pales in comparison with PowerPoint becuse you don't need internet for that. Prezi is a free application but there are paid upgrades as well hat are included with this website.

Sliderocket is a website where you can create a presentation and wither share it face-to-face or online whcih allows for instant feedback no matter the time or location. As long as your computer has Adobe Flash this software will work, if you don't have internet there is an offline version as well. The lite version is free but it is very limited in its fundamentals and the upgrades can be costly. This is a cloud based application but the cloud system can be slow at times and lose data quite easily. Also you can import pre-existing PowerPoints and edit them using Sliderocket.
