In Class Work:
12/1/16 - We learned the Preamble using School House Rock; Except for 8W6, we scanned the Articles of the Constitution to get a brief glimpse into what they are.
12/2/16 - Quasimodo was refresher of the three Articles; Passed up WS #10 - Seven Principles WS; Took a fifteen point quiz on the 7 Principles; Showed the "Goofy" filmstrip about Congress.
12/5/16 - Two Hour Delay - Quasimodo was a review of the first nine questions on WS #11. Next we opened our texts to page 267 and answered basic questions about the responsibilities of the legislative branch as written in Article I of the Constitution.
12/6/16 - Started by doing a Quasimodo in which the students had to match the Article with a Key Term such as Congress and then with the corresponding branch of government; we saw a video in which Barney Fife tries to remember the Preamble; we had one last sing-a-long; we took the Quest on the Preamble and Articles; we reviewed the term "impeachment"; we learned new responsibilities of Congress
12/7/16 - Quasimodo on some of the terms; watched "I'm Just a Bill"; Viewed a "Goofy Filmstrip on How Laws Are Made"; completed a chart on How Laws Are Made;
12/8/16 - Reviewed how bills become law by role - playing the sequence in class.
12/9/16 - Saw a filmstrip on the responsibilities of the executive branch - discussed fairness of the Electoral College
12/12/16 - Two hour delay & an adapted schedule for PSSA Benchmark Testing - we just read a little in the book about the executive branch.
12/13/16 - Read pages 276 - 281 for information to fill out WS #19 The Executive and Judicial Branches; Completed the bottom of Preamble Scramble to learn about the terms and requirements of holding the Presidency as well as Congressional Seats and serve on the Judicial Branch.
12/14/16 - Started with the Quasimodo which had the students put bill to law into the correct order using packets created by me; did a gatekeeper exercise to review the basic terms of office, leaders, and other basic citizenship trivia about the three branches; took a pair "pop" quiz on the terms after a five minute study buddy period.
12/15/16 - Reviewed WS #20 Review for the 3 Branches Test and then played KAHOOTS
12/16/16 - Took the Bill of Rights test - handed in WS #20
12/19/16 - Reviewed the Bill of Rights by reading pgs 286 - 88.
12/20/16 - Learned the Bill of Rights using finger motions and began poster creations
12/21/16 - Reviewed the homework; went over the tests; continued on the project work
12/22/16 - Took the Quest on the Bill of Rights, Electoral College, and Miscellaneous Vocab
