This is to inform you
that I didn’t die young.
Age swept past me
but I caught up.
Spring has begun here and each day
brings new birds up from Mexico.
Yesterday I got a call from the outside
world but I said no in thunder.
I was a dog on a short chain
and now there’s no chain.
EVERYDAY WORK
1. Read a novel for a good length of time (30-60 mins),
2. Google/Wikipedia/Rabenold Blog - Find something in history to read. Write a paragraph about it.
3. JOURNAL - Spend 20-40 mins each day just writing anything about your self or what you are thinking about...Then CREATE something with that - Write a poem, write a letter to yourself, write a short story about a mystery or a problem.
DONT FORGET - CLick on my ELA page at the top. You can access all worksheets and book from there.

Spelling City is an excellent resource to practice your words. There are many games and activities. The spelling words from all stories are here. How we learn our words is unique each year depending on individual spelling needs. It is not likely that we will have a weekly spelling test, but rather 1 to 2 larger tests/assignments per marking period.
Quizlet is a great resource for vocabulary practice.
Students should use the RACES strategy for all TDA writing questions. RACES.pdf
