During the final unit of the school year, we will explore the purpose and benefits of budgeting. As we discussed earlier in the course, money is the number cause for divorce in the United States. Many Americans spend (a lot) more money then they make causing themselves to be in debt for years. The current financial crisis can be partially be blamed on poor money management. In addition to exploring the topic of budgeting, we will explore and examine ways in which Americans can establish a good credit rating. Credit cards and other personal finance topics will be covered too.
By the end of this two-to-three week chapter, you will be able to answer the following essential questions completely and confidently.

How can you control your spending?
What is the purpose of a budget?
How do you know the financial decision you are making is the right one?
