Why should students learn keyboarding? Students need to know proper keyboarding technique so they can keyboard with proficient speed and accuracy and maximize their time on the computer.

First grade students will work on identifying and using the major keyboard keys.  We will work on continuing letter recognition from kindergarten, using the appropriate sitting position at the keyboard, and using two hands.  

We are going to use Jungle Jr. typing program to start slowing learning where the keys are located on the keyboard.  If the students enjoy this program, please feel free to use at home.  Just click the link above and use his/her lunch number for both the username and password.
