Module 2 - Standards


Standards

Pennsylvania’s Academic Standards define what students should know and be able to do as a result of instruction.

Below is a basic description of how each tab functions:

 

    • View Standards: The View Standards option enables users to locate the Standards they are interested in by searching based on subject area, and grade level or course. 

    • Vertical Viewer: The Vertical Viewer option enables users to view the standards as the organizing category develops through the years.

    • Keyword Search: The Keyword Search option enables users to search for particular words or phrases in the standards or anchors.

    • Browse Standards: The Browse Standards option enables users to drill down through a standards hierarchy: from subject area through eligible content.

    • Download PDFs: The Download PDFs option enables users to download the Official Pennsylvania Department of Education standards (which the SAS Portal has simplified and has made more easily accessible).

    • Unpacking the Anchors: The Unpacking the Anchors option enables users to easily view the skills and eligible content for the STEM classes and Language Arts.

    • Common Core: As Pennsylvania migrates to the Common Core standards, this page will document and make accessible the changes and updates of the process and its implications.
