Mrs. Onuskanich
Each year, all students are invited to join the CMMS Be the Change Club! Together, we strive to create a positive school climate where all students can find ways to spread kindness throughout our school community. This club meets every other week during the school year. Here are some of the things that our club is in charge of throughout the year.
Challenge of the Week (A new kindness challenge is announced to the entire school each week.)
Anti-Bullying Awareness (Activities and spirit days take place in November.)
The Great Kindness Challenge (Kindness activities and spirit days take place during the last full week in January.)
Read Across America (Reading rewards and spirit days take place during the week of March 2.)
End of Year Bash (Activities and events take place at the end of the school year.)
Color the School with Kindness Project
- Students and adults in the building pay $1 to have their handprint painted on the walls in the school. All money collected will fund the paint needed to paint the bathrooms in the building. Students will design the artwork and select inspirational quotes to display on the bathroom stalls and walls around the mirrors.
- Teachers will select a quote that inspires them or relates to the content area they teach. Teachers and students will paint the quotes above the classroom doorways.
- Students will pay $40 to paint a parking spot for a teacher of their choice. Students will design the artwork to be displayed along with the teacher's name. Money collected will fund the paint needed to paint the parking spots. Additional money not spent will help fund future projects in the building as determined by the club.
