On Monday, October 1st homework begins. Your child will bring home...

•  Monthly Homework Calendar & Response Journal
•  Monthly Reading Log for recording "Just Right" book(s)that are read by your child to you
•  "Just Right" book (these are leveled readers from our classroom collection & must be returned daily)

  Directions for completing homework...

1. Your child will receive a Homework Calendar & Response Journal at the beginning of each 

month. Your child will complete written assignments in the Response Journal and color in the 

corresponding box on the calendar when work is completed. Homework will be returned the 

last Friday of the month. 

2. Your child will read a "Just Right" book every night. They must come back everyday so your 

child can take home another one. Record the title on the monthly reading log. At the end of the month 

the log will be collected. 

If your child has met the reading goal, s/he will receive a Pizza Hut/Book It Certificate for the 

months of October thru March.

Regular completion of all homework is monitored, recorded and noted on the report card.
