Art Class Guidelines
RESPECT YOURSELF~RESPECT OTHERS~RESPECT ALL PROPERTY
ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
We will follow the School Wide Positive Behavior System (Fantastic Student=Bear Bucks) in my class which uses
the green, yellow, and red card system (we use crayons in place of cards).
Green means they did not have any discipline issues. Yellow means that they may
have needed some redirection with their behaviors. Red means that a student
continued to not make good choices. Students also have the opportunity to earn
a fantastic student Bear Buck Dollar in class as a positive reward system. If a
child goes out of their way to help during class, they will earn a Buck. They
can use these Bucks on the school’s prize cart. If a student moves to yellow
during Art Class, they cannot earn a ticket, but they can earn back their green
card by correcting their behaviors. If a student moves to red in art class, a
call home will need to happen to discuss a positive plan of action. I will also
be implementing a system called, “GIVE ME THREE!” I will hold 3 Fingers up,
each finger standing for STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN! The 3 fingers look like the
letter W to remind kids to listen to what I need to tell them (who, what, when,
where, why)! This system will be used to get their attention throughout the
class period.
INTERMEDIATE & MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Students will be learning
about the School Wide Positive Behavior System which will be made up of 6
Homeroom Teams. Individual earnings will be acknowledged as well as team totals
for rewards. Students will be given coins for doing positive acts of kindness
and going above and beyond. This system will be explained during the first week
of school.
*All students need to bring
in an Art Smock or be sure to wear old clothes on Art Day. Art can be messy,
but we don’t want to spoil the fun by ruining clothes!
Please call or e-mail me if
you or your child has any questions or concerns.
