SPEECH REFERRAL GUIDELINES

KINDERGARTEN -- Refer for multi-articulation errors of p, b, m, h, w, t, d, n, k, g, ng, y; unintelligible speech; delayed language and pragmatic skills; stuttering; voice disorders

FIRST GRADE -- Include f, v; refer for multi-articulation errors especially if the child is struggling academically; delayed language and pragmatic skills; stuttering; voice disorders

SECOND GRADE -- Include sh, ch, l, s, z; refer for multi-articulation errors especially if the child is struggling academically; delayed language and pragmatic skills; stuttering; voice disorders

THIRD GRADE -- Include r, th and blends; refer for multi-articulation errors; single-sound errors if the child is struggling academically; delayed language and pragmatic skills; stuttering; voice disorders

FOURTH GRADE AND FIFTH GRADE -- Refer for any articulation errors if the student is struggling academically; delayed language and pragmatic skills; stuttering; voice disorders
