Welcome to the Abraham Lincoln ESL (English as a Second Language ) Program!

The purpose of the ESL Program is to provide instruction and support for students who speak a language other than English. When a child is registered to attend school, the parent/guardian is required to complete a Home Language Survey. Based on the responses on the survey, a child may be given an assessment  to determine that child's level of English proficiency. Then plans can be made to provide instruction to help that child improve his/her level of English Proficiency.

Students who qualify for ESL instruction receive support from their classroom teachers, the ESL teacher, and other professionals here at Abraham Lincoln.
