Photo Analysis of the Civil War
Assignment Description:
Please go to the American Memory website and use the Search Tool to locate a photograph of an event from the Civil War. Your photograph must contain an image of at least one person.
Assignment Directions:
Instructions:
- Using objective observation, look at the photograph in depth to identify precisely what is seen in the photograph without interjecting your own thoughts and experiences.
- Using subjective observation, look at the photograph in an interpretive way to draw out additional information and to make inferences based on what is seen and known.
- Write two objective, and two subjective observations about the photograph on the Photographic Analysis Form below. Be prepared to discuss your observations in class.
