Scholarship Information

Below is a list of Awards and Scholarships that you may apply for as a senior.  Be sure to pay attention to the deadlines! If you need any help filling these documents out, come to Student Services for assistance. Please check with Student Services regularly for added/new scholarships that may become available throughout the school year!

Burger King – Visit https://www.scholarshipamerica.org/burgerkingscholars/ to learn about scholarship opportunities for students who are currently employed by Burger King or have parents that are currently employed. Deadlines and requirements vary by award.

 

Pennsylvania American Legion Scholarships: Child or grandchild of a Legionnaire; Essay, Leadership; Financial Need. Amounts and due dates vary by scholarship. Apply online:  https://pa-legion.com/programs/student-programs/scholarships/

 

AES Engineers - This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking engineering classes; apply online at:  http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm.  The award is for $500.00.  Deadline October 8, 2022.      

                                          

Wendy’s High School Heisman – Requires participation in at least one sport, involved in community and extracurricular activities, and maintain at least a B average.  To apply go to:  www.wendysheisman.com  click on “Apply Now”.  Deadline October 18, 2022.

 

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens – Requirements: Complete student cover sheet, outline of personal activities, high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay on a topic to be provided.  Winner should possess the following qualities: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.  Only one student per school can apply.  Award is for $150.00 given at a luncheon, and the opportunity to advance to state, and then national competition for further monetary rewards.  Deadline November 18, 2022.

 

Elks Scholarships: Several scholarships available for children/grandchildren of Elks Members, Applications are online only at https://www.elks.org/scholars/  Deadlines vary from November 15 to May 15. 

 

WTS Central Pennsylvania Chapter- Several scholarships available for exceptional women who are pursuing careers in a STEM or transportation related field. Apply online at https://www.wtsinternational.org/chapters/central-pennsylvania/scholarships.

 

Imagine America Scholarships- Up to $1,000 applied towards tuition to a trade or technical school.  Apply online at https://iafportal.org/user/register   Deadline December 31, 2022.

 

Lehigh Valley Section of the Society of Women Engineers – Scholarships of up to $5,000 awarded to women enrolling in an ABET accredited engineering program at a college or university that is recognized by the scholarship.  Requires application, recommendation, high school transcripts, and an essay.  The criteria for selection is scholarship, leadership, teamwork, activities, and an essay.  Application can be obtained at the following website:  http://lv.swe.org/application.html  Deadline February 10, 2023.

                                                                                                                                          

Create-A-Greeting-Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest – Earn $10,000 toward your education, and $1,000 for your school.  Submit a unique photo, piece of artwork, or computer graphic for the front of a greeting card.  For more information go to http://www.gallerycollection.com/greeting-cards-scholarship.htmDeadline March 2, 2023.

                                                                                                                            

Hermine Solt Student Scholarship – Seeking a career in business.  Requires a completed application, recommendation, qualities of leadership, citizenship and service to school and community, and demonstrated financial need.  Award is for $500.00.  Apply online at https://www.paeop.com/page/76  Deadline March 1, 2023.

 

Horatio Alger Scholarship – Criteria is pursuing a bachelor’s degree after high school, minimum GPA of 2.0, involvement in co-curricular and community service, and critical financial need of adjusted gross income of $50,000 or lower per family. Award is between $2,500 to $20,000. To apply submit online application at https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships, submit one letter of support, download certifications page, obtain required signatures, and mail in, copy of high school transcripts, and copy of parent/guardians federal tax form. Deadline March 15, 2023.

 

Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central Pennsylvania Scholarship –Requirements are having a medically confirmed diagnosis of epilepsy/seizure disorder. Acceptance to post-secondary technical college or university. Apply online at  http://www.efwp.org/programs/ProgramsScholarship.xml click on “complete application” Deadline March 15, 2023.

 

Work Ethic Scholarship Program – Mike Rowe scholarship for students going on to trade school. Apply online at https://www.mikeroweworks.org/scholarship/ Deadline March 28, 2023

                                                                                                   

Philanthropic Educational Organization - Award is for $1,000.00.  Requires:  Application, female going on for further education, high school transcript, resume, two letters of recommendation, essay, and copy of letter of acceptance to a college.  Deadline April 12, 2023.

                                                             

Berwick Health and Wellness Fund- Health Professions Scholarship - Award is for $1000.00 for up to four years.  Requirements:  The student must be accepted into a two or four-year college pursuing a health profession or one- or two-year certification program.  To apply go to http://www.csgiving.org/scholarships/scholarships.html.  Also required to be uploaded are transcripts, acceptance letter from institution you will be attending, and letters of reference. Deadline April 4, 2023.   

                              

Central Susquehanna Community Foundation – Walter and Florence Vorbleski Scholarship Fund – Requirements are senior enrolling in pre-med, nursing, physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, or surgical technician.  Award is a one year award of $500.00 up to $1,000.00.  To apply go to http://www.csgiving.org/scholarships/scholarships.html.  Also required to be uploaded are transcripts, acceptance letter from institution you will be attending, and letters of reference. Deadline April 4, 2023.   

 

Orlando C. Scopelliti Scholarship Fund - Award is for students entering degree programs for the care and/or education of the mentally and physically challenged.  Program can be associates, bachelors, or technical degree.  Apply online at http://www.csgiving.org/scholarships/scholarships.html.  Also required to be uploaded are transcripts, acceptance letter from institution you will be attending, and letters of reference. Deadline April 4, 2023.   

Student-View Scholarship Program – Senior must plan at attend a four year college, community college or career school. One $4,000 scholarship, two $1,000 scholarships, and ten $500 scholarships will be given away. Log on to www.student-view.com and complete an application survey about colleges in our area in order to qualify.  Deadline  April 30, 2023.

 

Columbia County Conservation District:  Edgar ”Ted” Fenstermacher Scholarship and Lavere McClure Scholarship and Maryruth Wagner Scholarship -  Three scholarships each worth $400.00.  Students should be planning to pursue degrees in agriculture or natural sciences/environmental education. The Thomas W. O’Brien Memorial Scholarship- an annual $1,500 scholarship available for a career and technical education student enrolled in a secondary CTE program in Pennsylvania and planning to attend a post-secondary institution majoring in a career and technical field. http://www.cte.iup.edu/scholarship/ Deadline April 17, 2023.

 

Bloomsburg Fair Scholarship- One $2,000 scholarship is available to a Columbia County High School senior pursuing a career in the agricultural/environmental science field. Deadline April 12, 2023.

 

Davis Scholarship – Award is for $1,000.00, and requires a less than 1000 word essay on specific topic.  For more information go to http://www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htmDeadline May 21, 2023.

                                                                          

Knoebels Scholarship – Requirements are a completed application, essay, Knoebels job performance, and worked at Knoebels during the 2017 season and re-hired for 2018.  Award is received at the completion of summer employment at Knoebels of a minimum of 250 hours, and proof of enrollment in higher education.  Applications can be picked up at Knoebels Human Resources Office or from Knoebels Department Managers. Deadline June 10.

     

Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants - Award is for $1,000.00.  To apply must submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of the web site:  http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htmDeadline June 10, 2023.

                                                                                                                              

BigSun Scholarship – Award is for $500.00.  Eligibility is being a high school athlete. Please send us a short essay (500 - 1,000 words) answering the following questions: How did your participation in sports during your high school years influence you?
