Welcome Parents & Students!

Second grade is an exciting year.  This school year your child's learning from first grade will be extended. Your child will become a more fluent and accurate reader and increase their comprehension.  He/she will also become a more skilled mathematician, mastering his/her basic addition and subtraction facts, demonstrate problem solving strategies, and solve higher-level mathematical questions.  In addition, your child will investigate plants and animals and better understand our social community and world.

In order for your child to be more successful and to reach his/her maximum potential I strongly encourage you to work with your child at home to continue the home-school connection.  This is important especially if your child has difficulty with a certain concept or skill taught in school.    

Please look in your child's Out-N-Back Pack every Friday for our classroom newsletter to get the latest news and information on what is happening in our class and in school. If you have any questions about our program or progress please do not hesitate to contact me.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year!
