SAS Lesson Plan Makeover (45 Minutes total)

(30 minutes)
As a table group:

1. Select a recorder to document your work.

2. Choose one of the 6 lesson plans below and…

• Rate the LoTI level using the LoTI Framework handout.
• Rate the HEAT level using the HEAT Framework handout.
• Determine how the lesson plan could be enhanced to ‘turn up the HEAT’ 

3. Select a method of recording and sharing your efforts.

(15 minutes)

Each table will select a reporter to stand and share the following:

1. The name and short synopsis of the lesson plan selected, including subject and grade level(s).
2. The LoTI and HEAT levels assigned, with a brief explanation as to why the levels are justified.
3. A concise description of how the lesson plan could be modified to intensify the levels of HEAT.
