9th Grade
This course is designed to enhance grammar skills, improve communication skills, and extend the students’ knowledge in the study of the arts. At the completion of this course, students should be able to communicate well in writing, speaking and incorporating basic grammar skills. They will have the opportunity to increase reading comprehension and foster and appreciation for literacy.
9th grade students are encouraged to think about the goals they wish to pursue in their future. While DCTS trains and prepares its students for entry into the workforce, we also support a college-bound track of study, too as many of our students consider a post-secondary education a necessary step. Freshmen students who wish to attend college (2 year, 4 year or technical) should strongly consider enrolling in college prep language arts courses for their 10th, 11th, and 12th grade years.
