Reading
To progress monitor in reading dig down to diagnose skills where the student is struggling. Some early literacy skills such as phonemic awareness, phonics, oral reading fluency and basic comprehension have excellent tools available for FREE such as DIBELS Next: https://dibels.org/next or for minimal cost such as Aimsweb: http://www.aimsweb.com/
Both DIBELS (https://dibels.uoregon.edu/) and Aimsweb (http://www.aimsweb.com/)offer progress monitoring data systems to help you get the most instructional benefit from all the hard work of collecting the data. These systems graph the data to show clearly when it's time to celebrate learning success and when it's time to change instruction.
Reading comprehension begins with listening comprehension. These rubrics help to monitor the development of early listening skills.
Some goals for reading comprehension are best addressed through norm referenced assessments like DIBELS Daze, Retell or Aimsweb Maze. Another way to monitor the progress of reading comprehension is through rubrics. Here are a couple you might try.
