Behavior

anger.jpeg  Behavior

One of the most difficult deficit areas to progress monitor is BEHAVIOR .  Analyzing the behavior to describe what you observe that needs to change, the function of the behavior and what happens before or after a behavioral incident that may cause it are all important keys to understanding and altering student reactions. These tools can help define, track and focus on what's working and what's not as you shift your instruction to influence student behavior in the areas of social communication, study skills, interacting with others and behavioral outbursts.  When using prompt hierarchies to change behavior our focus may be on removing the prompt scaffold to promote student independence.  Tracking prompts is one way to monitor student's behavior as it becomes increasingly independent.
