Mr. C's Mathemagical Website!
I'm calling our first Unit, "Unit 0," because this is review of the last few topics you covered in 8th grade last year. The linked lessons are from SAS Curriculum pathways. You can use your Google ID or the login "fresh7ago" to access these online activites.
Lesson 1 - Slope of a Line (SAS Lesson).
Slope can be described as (1) a rate of change, (2) rise over run or (3) the ratio of the change in y-coordinates to the change in x-coordinates. Remeber, when you count up or right, the direction indicates a positive value. When you count down or left, the direction indicates a negative value.
Lesson 2 - Graphing Equations in Slope Intercept Form (SAS Lesson).
A linear equation is an equation whose graph is a straight line. The linear equation y = mx + b is written in slope-intercept form where m is the slope and the point (0, b) is the y-intercept. The point where the line intersects the y-axis is the y-intercept.
Lesson 3 - Writing Equations in Slope Intercept Form (SAS Lesson).
A linear equation is an equation whose graph is a straight line. The linear equation y = mx + b is written in slope-intercept form where m is the slope and the point (0, b) is the y-intercept. The point where the line intersects the y-axis is the y-intercept.
