Mrs. Newill's Fourth Grade Class
To prepare for the 2012 MATH PSSA student completed a group project. Each group was assigned a different "task". Students had two days to complete the project with their group. Each group not only had to define their skill, but they also had to "teach" the class.
In order to teach a skill, students must master it first. Over the two days, students used different media to help organize their thoughts and abilities. Groups presentations varied from gameboard creations, matching games and centers, tests, movie maker and power point. Each skill was throughly reviewed and audience members were required to take "notes" with each presentation. Enjoy the pictures below:
Task #1: Rounding and Estimation-Garret A, Alexis D, Zack C.
Task #2: Factors and Multiples- Alex B., Ajaye L., Josh L.
Task #3: Elapsed Time-
~ Ted went to the beach at 10:30 AM and came home at 2:00 PM. How many hours was he gone?
Create your own elapsed time problem. Be creative. Make a poster or develop a skit to present it to the class.
