TOWAMENSING INSTRUMENTAL AND BAND

INSTRUMENT RENTAL MEETING

For information about our elementary instrumental instruction as well as the rental plan, please attend this meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 pm in the Towamensing cafeteria. All parents of prospective students should attend, even if you do not plan to rent an instrument.

WINTER CONCERT

Towamensing has a band and chorus concert each year in December in the Towamensing gymnatorium. This year it will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7:00 pm.

Students should wear long black pants or long or knee-length black skirts and white shirts/tops. Ties are strongly requested for the young men.

MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS MONTH

March is the national Music In Our Schools Month, and we present a special concert annually. It features performances of all the music department ensembles from grades 4-12, and is held in the high school auditorium. This year it will be on Tuesday, March 5, at 7:00 pm. All ensembles will rehearse together in the morning on the same day. (Elementary students will need permission slips for rehearsal.)

Students should wear long black pants or long or knee-length black skirts and white shirts/tops. Ties are strongly requested for the young men.

SPRING BAND CONCERT

The combined elementary schools Cadet Band Concert will be Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

We will rehearse at the high school Wednesday, May 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Permission slips will be required for May 22 morning rehearsal.)

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT STUDENTS ATTEND THE REHEARSALS. THIS IS A VERY BIG PROJECT TO PUT TOGETHER IN ONE DAY. PLEASE PLAN TO RESERVE THESE TWO DAYS/EVENINGS FOR BAND.

All participating students (gr. 4-6) are expected to be present.

Students should report to the high school cafeteria the night of the concert at 6:15 pm.

(Report to the auditorium the night of rehearsal.)

Please bring baked goods or snacks Thursday for refreshments after the concert.

 

MAKING MUSIC IS FUN!!!

Instrumental instruction is offered on Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Bells, and Snare Drum

Open to 4th, 5th & 6th Grade

 

All participating students (gr. 4-6) are expected to be present at our evening concerts. There will be concerts in December, March, and May.
