Why Math is important: The best way to become skilled at mathematics is for you to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Math is important to learn because we use it in our everyday lives. We use math while we go grocery shopping, to decide how much of a piece of food to share with a friend, and to keep track of our scores earned during games. Becoming skilled at mathematics is very important, and remember, it takes PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!

Math-Centered School Events:

1. Math Fair: Students from You Will Succeed University will be holding a Math Fair on their campus. All fifth and sixth grade students will be able to attend to this field trip. College students will be setting up stands that will have a fun math activity at each one. Our students will be placed in groups, to move about the different stands at this event. Math Fair will occur on November 10, 2011.

2. Math Tutoring: Students from You Will Succeed High School have offered to take time at the end of the school day, to tutor any elementary or middle school student who needs helps in mathematics. This will occur at our After School programs M-F at 3:45.
